A price desk for one surgery
PerGraft covers a single question, what a hair transplant costs in the US and how people pay for it, and holds every figure to the same standard.
PerGraft is an independent editorial site about the cost of hair transplant surgery in the United States: how prices are set, what quotes include and leave out, and the ways people pay. It is written from published sources by a small editorial desk. It is not a clinic, a lender or a referral service, and it is not medical advice.
Nobody here is a clinician
We want to be plain about this. PerGraft is written from published sources, and no doctor, surgeon, dermatologist or other clinician has reviewed it. We do not claim otherwise anywhere on the site, and we never will. Every page about the procedure or paying for it carries a note saying so, and pointing you to a doctor or a board-certified dermatologist for anything about your own hair.
That limits what we write. We explain prices, quotes and payment. We describe risks only where a medical source names them, and we give no advice on whether surgery or any medication is right for you.
Where our figures come from
Every fragile fact on the site, whether a price, a percentage, a rule or a date, is recorded in our sources file with the page it came from and the day we read it. The main sources are:
- the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery's 2025 Practice Census, for graft counts, sessions and what surgeons report about illicit clinics;
- six published US cost guides from clinics and medical lenders, for the per-graft and total prices they print;
- Aetna's published cosmetic-surgery policy and IRS Publications 502 and 969, for insurance and tax accounts;
- the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, for medical credit and deferred interest;
- the American Academy of Dermatology and Cleveland Clinic, for timelines and named risks.
When a figure cannot be checked at its source, we leave it out. That is why you will not find an "average hair transplant cost" presented as fact: no neutral source publishes one.
What we refuse to do
We do not rank clinics or surgeons, and we do not name clinics on our pages. We do not publish before-and-after photos or promise outcomes. We do not print medication prices or dosing, and we do not tell anyone what to take. We do not accept payment from clinics, surgeons or lenders, and the one company that can pay us is named on every page where its link appears.
How the charts are made
Every chart on PerGraft is drawn from figures printed on the same page, and the site's build checks that the words and the chart still agree. When a chart shows a total that no source printed, such as a graft count multiplied by a published price, the chart says it is arithmetic.
How we are paid
PerGraft can earn from one link: HairClub's free consultation, which pays us if a reader completes it or buys later. That link appears on a small number of pages, each with a note beside it. The full terms, and the list of companies we have turned down, are on our affiliate disclosure.
Corrections
Prices change and sources are updated. If something here is wrong or out of date, tell us and we will check it against the source and correct it, with the new date.
